Friends of Cove Park, an all-volunteer subcommittee ofthe Friends of Beverly Recreation, was created to raise funds for thebenefit of Cove Park, aka Kimball-Haskell Park. The current woodenplay structure is about 25 years old, with older steel components thatare over 50 years old. The wooden structure is deteriorating badly andbeyond repair. The ground cover has disappeared and the exposedconcrete footings at the steel structures can cause injuries. Theequipment is too old and out of compliance, and therefore cannot berelocated. Improvements to the park will include a brand new playstructure with exciting modern play elements (ADA compliant), alongwith improved seating and landscaping.
